Cairngorms, May 2025

Through the Chalamain Gap and over the western peaks.

Then down to Corrour bothy, and back out through the Lairig Ghru and the Gap.

The strange piece of wrecked machinery is part of the undercarriage of a RAF plane that crashed into Braeriach in the Second World War. This happened twice, and I’m not sure which plane this lump is from. The area is scattered with ingots of melted aircraft aluminium and bent steel pins.
